We are seeking a
5th Grade Class Teacher
for the 2023-2024 academic year.
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking an individual who possesses high expectations, a strong sense of personal accountability, a strong “teacherly” presence, a positive attitude, and excellent communication skills.
As an enrichment program, we work with families who are homeschooling and are either enrolled with an independent study charter or have filed their own Private School Affidavit (PSA).
We look to our teachers to lead not only the children but also the parents in their education. Our teacher’s goal is to help develop a strong community around our community that supports a developmentally appropriate education method.
COMPENSATION and PERKS

Students attend Monday - Thursday
Small class sizes
Teachers have their afternoons and Fridays for prep (18 hours/week of teaching and 20 hours/week of paid prep)

Our Learning Coaches support our children individually or in small groups and help monitor children when they are outside at recess.

Our substitute teachers fill a vital component of stability that we seek to offer our students.
Our substitutes fill the roll of our Learning Coaches, Lead Teachers, and Specialty Class Teachers.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Our substitutes fill the roll of our Learning Coaches, Lead Teachers, and Specialty Class Teachers.
Our substitutes will engage students in curriculum, as prepared by the lead teachers.
Deliver lessons for various subjects in an engaging, thoughtful manner, combining traditional Waldorf topics with an attentiveness to equity issues in both the curriculum and the classroom
Possess strong classroom management skills
Adapt and differentiate teaching styles to student needs and interests, in collaboration with other teachers and our learning support team
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree
Current TB test results
CPR certified
*Previous Waldorf training and/or an openness to Waldorf pedagogy is preferred but not required*
START DATE

COMPENSATION
$120 for full day or $16/hour for partial day
